Day-1. EDMONTON – WASHINGTON DC: Flight to Washington DC.

Day-2.WASHINGTON DC: Arrive in Washington DC. Settle into your hotel and go for a walking tour with your tour director. Have dinner in one of the local restaurants.

Day-3.WASHINGTON DC: Your Tour Director will then take you on the hop-on-hop-off guided city tour. During this tour, you will see and visit famous landmarks. Visit the Arlington Cemetery where many outstanding Americans, including JFK, are buried. Continue on to the National Mall to see the Smithsonian museums. Stop at the Washington Monument and take the elevator to the top for a magnificent view of Washington. Continue on to the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, a beautiful tribute to Abraham Lincoln, the WWII Memorial, and the Reflecting Pool. Then see the Korean and Vietnam War Memorials, and finally the White House, where you can stop for a photo opportunity. If you make an appointment with a Member of Congress in advance, you may have an inside tour of the White House. Proceed to National Geographic Headquarters and Dupont Circle. Also, see the beautiful Embassy Row with Embassies from around the world. Stop to visit the beautiful neogothic National Cathedral. Continue to Georgetown, Washington’s glitzy neighborhood with famous stores and restaurants, and have dinner.

Day-4.WASHINGTON DC: Start your day with a tour of the National Archives building. See the American Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill of Rights and talk to you about the American fight for independence. Then go for an inside tour of the Capitol Building, the Senate, and the House of Representatives where laws are made and debated, and take a picture in front of the Capitol. Guided tours of the historic Capitol begin with a film that will take you on a journey of our country’s struggle to establish the world’s first truly representative democracy. The subject to schedule, meet with your Member of Congress. Lunch on your own at Union Station. Then visit the impressive Library of Congress and the Jefferson Room, with the beautiful stained glass dome. Before leaving the Capitol area see the Supreme Court building.

Day-5. WASHINGTON DC: Start your day by taking the metro to the Mall to see the Smithsonian Museums. See the Air and Space Museum, where you can see the Apollo 11 Command Module, the National Art Gallery, the American History Museum, or the Natural History Museum with an amazing display of dinosaurs, the T-Rex, and the evolution of life forms on Earth. Lunch at the Air and Space Museum Cafeteria. After lunch, you may want to visit the area around China Town and the Spy Museum. Dinner in the area.

 Day-6. WASHINGTON DC – GETTYSBURG: Travel to Gettysburg, one of the most famous places in American history related to July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 1863, known as the Battle of Gettysburg. You will explore the largest battlefield shrine in America with over 1,000 monuments and cannons and over 40 miles of scenic avenues. Upon arrival, join the local guide for a guided tour of the battlefields which are now a national park. This tour will cover some of the historic battlefields where the Union soldiers fought the Confederate army. You will also visit the Cemetery Ridge, where Abraham Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address. Then to Washington for overnight.

Day-7. WASHINGTON DC – MT. VERNON: Visit Mount Vernon, the plantation home of George Washington, the first President of the USA who refused to become “King” and fought for a Republic. Have a guided visit of the beautiful, historic house, and grounds where he and Martha Washington lived, as well as the slave quarters. George and Martha believed in the abolition of Slavery and upon their deaths, all of their slaves were freed. On your way back stop at Alexandria and have dinner before returning to your hotel.


Day-8.
DEPARTURE:
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.

STUDENT SURCHARGE:
in double accommodation: $30.00 per person/night
in single accommodation: $90.00 per person/night
ADULT SURCHARGE:
in triple/quad accommodation: $50.00 /person/night

in single accommodation: $110.00 per person/night

PAYMENT POLICY:

A down payment of $300.00 for the trips in 2023/2024 is due before July 29th, 2022.

Up to 10 payments per request.

INSURANCE – optional.
Includes trip cancellation, lost baggage, trip interruption, and medical insurance. It will be added to your first payment.

Adults based on age

If your group or any individuals from your group do not accept this insurance, the group leader must inform E&L GROUP TOURS in writing.

All individuals traveling with E&L GROUP TOURS must show proof of valid travel insurance.

NOT INCLUDED:
Gratuities optional – suggested $2.5 per day per person for the tour director and $5.00 per person per day for the local tour guide.
Lunches, drinks with dinner, bottled water everywhere, and local transportation
