The price is based on 30 paying travelers and 5 free chaperones. For smaller independent groups we will adjust the price. The ratio for free chaperones stays at 1 to 6. The lowest number of paying participants for an independent group is 10.
QUITO, GALAPAGOS ISLAND CRUISE, AMAZON JUNGLE, QUITO
Day-1. DEPARTURE CITY – QUITO: Fly to Quito. Transfer to your centrally located hotel and after a short break, join your tour director on a walking tour of the city.
Day-2. QUITO – GALAPAGOS – CRUISE: Transfer to the airport for a flight to the Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival, meet your tour director, a certified biologist, who will be with you during your stay. First, visit the Darwin Station. Learn about life on the islands. See the largest and oldest turtles in the world that are almost 4 feet tall. Later board your boat and sail to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno to visit the Interpretation Centre and see hundreds of Frigate Birds that nest there. Continue to Isla Lobos with a large colony of Sea Lions and the best place for snorkeling.
Day-3. GALAPAGOS – CRUISE – ESPANOLA – HOOD ISLAND: Visit Espanola, the breeding site of Waved Albatrosses. In Punta Suarez view Sea Lions, Iguanas, and Boobies nesting right in your path. Mockingbirds will also capture your attention as they keep you company. Also, visit Gardner Bay with the Sea Lions. Back on the boat do not be surprised if you find your new friends, baby Sea Lions, at the door of your cabin.
Day-4. CRUISE – SANTA FE – BARRINGTON ISLAND – SANTA CRUZ: View Blue-Footed Boobies and Sea Lions. Continue to Santa Cruz where you will have an opportunity to see Masked Boobies and the Giant Albatrosses. End the day in Puerto Ayora, the largest inhabited town in the Galapagos.
Day-5. CRUISE END – QUITO – BANOS: In the morning disembark the boat and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Quito. Upon arrival, transfer to the city of Baños at the foothills of the active Tungurahua Volcano for your overnight stay.
Day-6. BANOS – YACUMA LODGE (AMAZON): Follow the impressive Pastaza Canyon, passing Puyo town, and arrive in San Pedro Village. From here you will navigate using dugout canoes to the Yacuma Lodge in Upper Amazon for your overnight stay.
Day-7. YACUMA LODGE: Hike through the beautiful rain forest with an experienced local jungle guide. Learn about the different plant species and how to navigate the Napo River, which connects to the Amazon River. At the end of the day, visit an Indian family to learn more about their way of life, animals, and plants.
Day-8. YACUMA – MITAD DEL MUNDO – QUITO: Travel to Termas de Papallacta to soak in hot water springs. Continue to Mitad del Mundo and visit the Inca Museum. Mitad del Mundo is a unique place where you can stand with your left foot on the Northern Hemisphere and your right foot in the Southern Hemisphere. Go on to Quito.
Day-9. QUITO: Enjoy a morning guided tour of Colonial Quito. Quito is the capital and the largest city in Ecuador. It is on an elevation of 2850 meters above sea level. The historic center of the city is one of the largest and best-preserved historic centers in the Americas and is a World Cultural Heritage Site. Visit/see Plaza de la Independencia, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, El Sagrario Church, Square and church of San Francisco, El Panecillo Hill with the statue of the Virgin of Penecillo, and more. In the evening, enjoy an Inca dinner.
